Scottish Festivals To Look Out For

We’re more than halfway through the Scottish festival season, but most importantly there are still a lot of fantastic upcoming festivals to get involved with if you fancy packing your wellies and tent and praying to the Gods to keep the rain at bay for the weekend. But surely the gamble of getting soaked is half the fun….

Here are some of my picks for the best upcoming festivals you can still grab a ticket to this summer:

• Groove Loch Ness Festival – 18^th August

Billed as “a nightclub under the stars”

• Electric Fields Music Festival – 31^st August – 1^st September

Family friendly weekend of fun, laughter and live music

• Kelburn Forest Carnival – 15^th September

Think colours and carnival vibes. This one night festival is the last of the Kelburn instalments this year. Overnight camping tickets available

European Festivals Worth The Annual Leave

If a potential wash-out doesn’t appeal to you, perhaps hopping on a flight for a couple of hours to one of the many sensational European festivals is more your style?

Here are my sunny picks of upcoming festivals In Europe for the remainder of the year:

• Electric Picnic – 31^st August – 2^nd September

Based in the beautiful Irish countryside, this is a treat for all the senses, however wellies may need packed for this one!

• Outlook Festival – 5^th – 10^th September

One of the biggest of Croatia’s festivals on offer. Optional extra of boat parties available if you get bored of dry land

• Lolapalooza – 8^th – 9^th September

Based in Berlin this 27 year old festival shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to delivering world-class line ups

Upcoming Festivals A Little Further Afield

If something a little bit exotic is more your taste then check out these fabulous upcoming festivals outside Europe:

• Summer Sonic 2018 – 18^th – 19^th August

This festival near Tokyo offers something a little different. With a fantastic line-up there will be something for everyone

• Sensation Singapore – 1^st September

For one night only the Changi Exhibition Centre will be transformed into the World’s biggest nightclub. This will be something special

• Hot 100 Festival – 18^th – 19^th August

This festival based in Long Island, New York is set to turn the outdoor Jones Beach Theatre into quite a party

Pick Of The Bunch Next Year

If you missed out this year and it’s too late to book one of these fantastic festivals, why not get prepared nice and early for next year’s festival season? With the ever-expanding festival circuit taking place all over the globe, choosing the right festival for you can be difficult.

• TRNSMT – 12^th – 14^th July 2019

Held on Glasgow Green and offering the Scottish people an alternative to the fabled T In The Park this festival is guaranteed to offer a spectacular line-up in Scotland’s biggest city

• Sonar – 18^th – 20^th July 2019

Sonar is always a spectacular festival boasting some of the biggest names in dance music

• Coachella – 12^th – 21^st April
